FACADE DESIGN ENGINEER
Your function
- You are part of the team responsible for the facade-technical design and optimization of facades and building envelopes which incorporates structural engineering, building physics and advanced modelling techniques.
- Your approach will be based on a thoughtfully designed skin, enhancing durability, energy saving and occupant comfort.
- Working closely with architects and engineers, as well as material designers and cladding manufacturers, to create sustainable and innovative facades affecting productivity, energy use and running costs.
- Your responsibilities include also factory visits, site/construction visits and the preparation of construction reports.
- You participate in façade testing & reporting, as well as in research at universities and higher education colleges.
- VK Academy gives you the opportunity to further develop, strengthen and share your knowledge with your colleagues. This way you contribute to lever innovation within VK and enhance the quality image of VK.
Your profile
- You have a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Master of Science in Civil and Architectural Engineering, master of architecture, possibly with a relevant postgraduate degree (Master Façade Engineering) - or equivalent experience.
- This vacancy is open to engineers with some relevant experience, who take the challenge to join and strenghten the knowledge center with their specialization in facade-technical design.
- You have a strong affinity with architecture.
- Your team spirit, excellent communication skills and quality orientation are greatly appreciated.
- Your English language skills (written and verbal) are excellent and good knowledge of French and Dutch is a plus.
- Knowledge of structural calculations of facades is a plus, as well as knowledge of 3D modeling and visualization of sophisticated facade concepts.
